LeBron James achieved another milestone Sunday when the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Philadelphia 76ers.
With 47 remaining in the first quarter and the Lakers 18-17, James received a pass from Russell Westbrook just outside the 3-point line and deflated a jump shot. The two-pointer put him in his 38,000-point club with only Lakers legend Kareem his Abdul his Jabbar in front of him.
James finished the quarter with 16 points, four assists and three rebounds. He is just a few hundred points behind Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387 points. The Lakers superstar spoke out about potentially breaking Abdul-Jabbar’s record in October. explained what it means.

But listen, at the end of the day, you can breathe the same breath as the guy wearing the same [Lakers] uniform, the guy who was an integral part of that franchise along with the Magic and the Big Game [James Worthy] Been there for years and did a lot off the floor, especially in the 80’s. I find it very dope for me to join this conversation. ”
